6 interactive Alavam features I’d like to implement
So wanted to talk about the design a little bit.
1) Smart Summary
I like having a detailed summary at the beginning that highlights major points. This could give the crux of the podcast and if the reader likes it they can scroll the entire transcript. Made one for the KP pod that was transcribed.
2) Annotation
Similar to Genius, I’d like to have an annotation component to the podcast which would make the content richer and relevant. Can see an example of this for a series of speeches that Genius did for Sam Altman (RapGenius was in YC, these were notes that were uploaded, not a podcast)
I added a similar concept for the KP transcript.
3) Community/ Discussion
As I was Googling, I noticed there was an ENTIRE Reddit thread for this particular podcast:
It would be great of we could bring this in house and have the discussions for each podcast on our site.
4) Smart Keywords
This feature is from Otter. I love it because clicking on a word brings a user to the direct part of the podcast where said word/topic is mentioned, and is a great precursor to Audio Search.
5) Highlighted questionable words
As we know, no transcription service is 100% accurate. I like this feature from Temi that highlights words it’s not sure about, which makes it easier for a human to find and fix it.
6) The audio snippet accompanying the text
As you can see above, each text snippet comes along with the accompanying audio so the user can listen to the audio in real time as they read the text.
